Karissa’s Girls in Design (KGID), formerly known as Karissa’s Girls in Africa for Progress (KGAP Initiative), is a dynamic organization dedicated to empowering young girls and aspiring female designers. Our mission is to inspire and support them in pursuing their passions and excelling in the world of design.

Our Focus Areas

Encouraging Interest:
Encouraging Interest: Fostering interest and curiosity in design among young girls, from interior design to product design and everything in between.

Skill Development:
We provide practical workshops, seminars, and hands-on training to enhance students’ design skills and boost their confidence.

Mentorship:
We empower aspiring female designers by pairing them with successful women in the design industry, providing them with guidance and support.

Advocacy:
Promoting gender equality in the design sector and advocating for equal opportunities and representation.

Community Building:
Creating a strong network of like-minded individuals, sharing experiences, and building a supportive community for girls.
